The Magach 2 is an Israeli Main Battle Tank from the Cold War period. The length of the wagon was about 9.3 meters, width - about 3.65 meters, and the combat weight was around 45 tons. The drive was provided by a single Continental engine with 750 HP. The armament initially consisted of a single 90 mm cannon and two 7.62 and 12.7 mm machine guns. The Magach 2 is essentially an Israeli name for the American M48 Main Battle Tank imported from West Germany and later from the United States (since 1965), almost certainly in the M48A2C version. Tanks of this type, compared to the previous versions of the M48 car, had a modernized power unit, their thermal signature was also reduced, the cannon stabilization system was improved, and the SKO (fire control system) was significantly modernized, making it - by the standards of the 1960s - very much modern. The vehicles of this type were used during the Six-Day War (1967), and together with the Centurions, they were the main armored weapons of the Israeli army. It is worth adding that after 1967 the Magach 2 cars were modernized and developed.
