Edgley EA-7 Optica was a light British civil aircraft which took its maiden flight in 1979. About 20 machines of this type were built in the course of serial production. A single plane was 8.15 meters long with a wingspan of 12 meters. The drive was provided by a single Textron Lycoming IO-540 engine with 260 HP. The maximum speed was 213 km / h and the rate of climb was 4.1 m / s. The maximum range was estimated at approx. 1050 kilometers.

Plane The EA-7 Optica was developed by the British constructor John Edgley as a machine with the lowest possible operating costs, dedicated to observations and measurements from the air, capable of staying in the air at a very low speed. The machine was characterized by a very avant-garde design, which is distinguished by a glass cabin of the pilot and passengers to a very large extent, ensuring great observation possibilities, the use of a push propeller placed in a special duct (ducted fan) and two tail beams with a very unusual tail tail. Despite the fact that the serial production of this atypical machine has already ended, its resumption was considered in 2018-2019!
