Trumpeter 09551 9P157-2 Khrizantema-S Anti Tank System

The 9P157 Chrysanthemum-S is a modern tracked Russian tank destroyer. It is assumed that the design work and the improvement of the vehicle prototypes took place in the years 1990-1996, and the car entered production around 2000. The main armament of the car is the 9M123 Chrysanthemum guided anti-tank missile (NATO code: AT-15 Springer).

The 9P157 Chrysanthem-S vehicle was developed for the needs of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, and the overall concept of the vehicle was modeled on the much older 9P149 Szturm-S. The 9P157 vehicle was developed on the basis of the BMP-3 tracked infantry fighting vehicle, thanks to which the vehicle is highly mobile and performs well. The main armament of the vehicle is a 9M123 missile launcher with a maximum range of 6,000 meters and guided by radar or laser. It is worth adding that the missiles have the ability to fight low-flying targets - e.g. helicopters. One 9P157 vehicle carries up to 15 9M123 missiles. Without a doubt, the 9P157 Chrysanthem-S is a successful tank destroyer with good off-road characteristics, good anti-armored targets and amphibious capabilities. The disadvantages include the lack of additional weapons in the form of machine guns or - probably - high production costs.
